GSA Vets - Winter League 2008/09 - League Forum Messages received :

Neil Overton :

Unfortunately, the leagues have been blighted this year by some teams (mine included) being forced to drop out due to injuries to their team player - signs of old age setting in I guess.

This has meant that a few questions have been raised about what we do next year - assuming we decide to have a league, here are the suggestions

Please let me have your thoughts on this so we can try and find a way forward that suits us all. (you can use the website 'contact us' page.)

I would confirm that we think that the Vets League should carry on “as we are”.
Regards.

Hi Neil,
Definately Saturday for me.Taking Tony's point how many Vets are there and how many Vinatage players, as a lot of players in the second division are vintage anyway?

Neil, with regard to next season, I would still want to play on Saturday, although an earlier start sometimes is better suited. As a small club we would be struggling to put out four players each week. With so many 45 year olds now playing, I would be very interested should the league decide on a vintage division.

Kind regards

Neil, I’m inclined to try the Vets/Vintage idea but wonder if we would get enough Vets teams to make a league!
